OLAM
BY RAPHAEL GUEZ
A video review documenting the creative process behind the artwork "Olam Generative"
The installation, "Olam Generative," consists of a screen sculpture presenting a continuously evolving digital landscape. The real-time generation of this landscape is influenced by four environmental data markers (humidity, temperature, wind speed, visibility) from the Dumont d'Urville base in Antarctica.
These data points dynamically shape the digital world displayed on the screen, altering elements such as water levels, trees, stones, and urban features according to the captured algorithmic data.
In the realm of Judeo-Christian mysticism, "Olam" signifies the transitional spaces between the immaterial (virtual landscape) and the tangible (data).
